Mount Marty Enrollment Webinar
Right, hello there, good evening. Thank you for attending this Mount Marty enrollment webinar. My name's Greg Franz, associate vice president for enrollment and director of admission and Kyle McLean from Mount Marty's, assistant director of admission, is also on the call and he will be going through this brief and hopefully informative webinar that is really designed to give you the best information about moving forward with.
Roman.
A housing and class registration. So we will wait for just one more minute just to give everybody who signed up a chance to get in. And we'll go from there. You can submit questions so please feel free to use that question box on the screen and and you know, feel free to to put in whatever questions you might have. Will answer those as the.
As the program goes on and again, we'll get started in in just a minute or two.
OK, well if you want to take it away and get started, I'm going to turn off my camera and I'll be on hand to respond to any questions that come up.
All right, thanks Greg.
Like Greg said, my name is Kyle McLean. I'm an assistant director of admission here at Mall Marty, and so we're just going to jump right into it here. I'm going to share my screen and we're going to kind of go through a a PowerPoint that we put together on just some of the additional steps in terms of enrollment and and getting into your Lancer link.
Give me one SEC here.
Alrighty and so.
MU enrollment webinar, so kind of go into here, so here's some of the next steps in the enrollment process, so and we'll go through one of these individually as we move on, so submitting the enrollment deposit is that first step and then signing the enrollment agreement and they're in the.
In the parentheses is also those. Those three things are found in the Lancer link, and so we'll show you a little bit more about that as we go, so filling out housing application is in there as well as uploading and sending immunization records, and then the other things will go over is signing up or RSVP ING for class registrations and also sending final transcripts. Big deal there.
So First things first would be submitting the enrollment deposit and so you are able to do this in the Lancer link. But we have also created a a much simpler way to do it in order to get it going and so.
Oh
yeah.
Hey Kyle, real quick right now. I think we're just seeing your PowerPoint the the intro slide.
Just the intro one.
Yeah.
All right?
Jet gear.
I'll do some elevator music.
Yeah.
OK, so you see that slide.
Yeah, but it's just showing the general Microsoft PowerPoint, sort of.
Like as if you were just in PowerPoint without the slideshow going.
OK, let me do this.
Be able to see or is it still the same right there?
Still the sname.
Yeah, still the same.
OK, and one more here.
No.
There you go perfect. Yeah now it's showing the intro slide and so if you arrow to the next one Yep perfect. OK there you go.
So rule of thumb moving forward don't start the slideshow, just go to the reading page.
Anyway, sorry about that hiccup there so.
Next steps in the Roman process. Submitting enrollment deposit signing enrollment agreement. Filling out the housing application.
Uploading sending immunizations.
RSVP ING or signing up for class registration and sending final transcripts, so we'll get into it here.
So this is on the the Mount marty.edu homepage and so it's right in the middle. We've made it easy and this is if you hit hit the sign up button it will take you to where you can submit your $100 enrollment deposit. And so your $100 enrollment deposit is basically giving us the the notice that you plan to to enroll in classes and and become a male Marty Lancer. So that would be your first step in the process.
And so.
Moving forward.
Starting to being able to access the Lancer link.
And so some of you may have done this before, and some may have not. So in order to get into your Lancer link you will also need your username and password that you would have created during the onboarding process.
And so if you have not onboarded yet and you're in this PowerPoint or in this webinar, please contact your enrollment counselor and they'll be able to to send you instructions on how to get that set up to be able to to access your Lancer link and also access your Mount Marty email as well.
And so if you click on that Lancer link at the top, go into your student portal and and use your user name and password. It will take you and then your next step would be signing the enrollment agreement.
And so kind of like it says in the bowl points there on the left hand side, the enrollment agreement will not populate in here until you submit your enrollment deposit.
And so.
It will be found as you can see that my documents document center.
And then it'll be in the middle of the page and there will be a the click here button and it will take you through to to be able to fill out your enrollment agreement.
And so the enrollment agreement is kind of a terms and conditions type of document and form that states that you understand when you start classes that you'll you'll have a hold if you do not pay your bill, you understand and under or know what you're getting into with in terms of financial aid and loans. And then also it'll there will be a media consent in there so that if you're part of a campus activity that you will be able to.
Have your picture taken or shown on Mount Marty social media.
And so the big part about all this right here is that last bullet point on the left.
And it states that in order to register for classes, you'll need to sign that enrollment agreement.
So the next thing would be filling out your housing application and so this one is in the the Lancer link as well, so it's located under campus life. And then if you Scroll down you'll be able to see the housing application. So as of right now the only term available is to to get your room for fall so you won't have any problems there. And this will also be where you'll be able to pick out your meal plan so the 19 meals per per week.
14 meals per week, or 10 meals per week as well.
And so, like it says on the bullet point, if you do have a roommate request, please email your enrollment counselor with who you like to run with, and also whomever you'd like to room with. Please have them email their enrollment counselor and state that they would like to room with you as well, and so.
Moving on, if you have been placed or have you filled out your housing application, you're also able to find your roommate and which room and building you'll be in as well, and so, like it states there, if you go to that housing app on file and then you click student placed and then you hit leases, you'll be able to find all that information and it will will show you exactly where you'll be at. So if you do see your roommate.
In there and you'd like to connect with your your roommate that's on there, please contact your enrollment counselor as well and they can get that conversation going so that you guys can.
Get going and figure out what you need for your dorm room and etcetera.
So the next thing would be uploading and sending immunizations and so this is also found in the same spot that the enrollment agreement is. So my documents, document center and so you can see the upload document button in there. If you Scroll down you're able to upload your immunizations directly in there. If you have that, or if you don't have them or it's not the easiest way. You can either send them.
Electronically via email to your enrollment counselor. You're able to text them to your enrollment counselor, or you can scan them so we're pretty flexible on how that works. We just make sure that we we can get those on file so that we we know what our we know your immunizations look like.
So then, once you've completed those steps, the next one is signing up to register for classes, and so kind of listed out here. So if you're watching this, you can take a picture of that or go right to that Web page. So everything's done on mountmarty.edu, and so Mount marty.edu under the admissions drop down you'll see in a visits and events tab.
And so once that populates the next page, you'll be able to to hit any of those RSVP's and be able to sign up for one of those days. And so like it, it says there is all of our registrations will be held every Wednesday morning and every Friday morning throughout the month of June. And then in July it'll be a more case by case basis, and so little bit about registrations. They are all done virtually.
And we do them through Google meets here and they last about one hour. And So what that one hour will entail is 30 minutes you meeting with your advisor, going over your class schedule, making adjustments to your schedule that that you see fit, or taking a class out, or adding a class so you and the your advisor will be able to work through that and be able to get everything taken care of. And then your last 30 minutes will be with your.
Your enrollment counselor and so kind of what that will entail is going through your Lancer link, making sure everything's set up and and squared away. In there you'll go with your enrollment counselor and accept reject your financial aid and ask any question and ask and answer any questions that you may have about it. And then they'll also be a be able to direct you on any additional steps there as well.
And then also your enrollment counselor will be able to show you the the process of how to buy books, so whether it be, it'll be most likely July and August when books become available, but they'll be able to show you where you'll be able to buy them or rent them, and to be able to get new and used books as well for for a decent cost.
And so the last thing most of you have either finished high school right now or you've you're just wrapping up your college college year, and so the next step would be sending final transcripts.
And so if you're a high school student, what you want to do is is reach out to your school and there may be a form that you'll need to fill out to have your official high school transcript sent over to Mount Marty directly. And the one thing you want to make sure to do is 1. Make sure it's official and two. Make sure your transcript has that diploma day on there.
And so the next step would be if you've taken the ACT or SAT, we will need those official scores be to be sent to us and so.
ACT code is there as well as the SAT code and like it says as well that if your high school transcripts, lists and ACT or or SAT, you don't need to send those. If it's on your official high school transcript, that will suffice just as well. And so if you have taken any dual credits you will need to reach out to the colleges that you've sent them or you've taken them through and have them sent over to Mount Marty directly.
And so.
Most schools are are pretty good about sending those those over fairly quickly. However, most also do have a a small fee that you will need to pay to be able to have those courses sent over, and so we encourage those to be sent over as soon as you can and before your registrations, just so that when you meet with your advisor they're able to plug that into to your course evaluation so that you'll get credit for those courses.
And that goes the same way with AP courses. If you've taken AP courses, you will need to take that AP exam at the end of that course, and you'll need to receive A3 or higher for that to be able to to get credit from us. And so how you'll do to to send those is you go exactly to to College Board, and you can still have those sent directly over to us from College Board, and that'll be an official AP test.
Damn.
And so that's pretty much the the gist of what we are trying to cover, and the next steps in order to to get you moving to to be in the right spot for your enrollment here at Mount Marty and so.
If you guys don't have any other questions for me.
Help push it back over to Greg and see if Greg.
Has anything else that he would like to add or we would like to go over in this webinar?
Thanks Kyle.
Yeah, just to sum up, kind of a couple of things that Kyle was talking about. The most important things are if you know you're coming to Mount Marty this fall, submit the $100 enrollment deposit as soon as possible. And as Kyle mentioned, the link is on our home page. Mount marty.edu.
Once we receive that, you can register for housing through your Lancer link and you can't. You'll be invited to register for a class registration appointment with one of our faculty advisors or one of our staff advisors. So those are the biggest things. Definitely getting in the official final transcript is very important for our registrar. If you don't submit your official final transcript.
By the end of the calendar year, then you actually get a hold put on your account and you're unable to register for classes for spring 23. So it's a very important document and and just a really easy one to have your school set send.
You know at anytime.
If there are no questions though, thank you very much for tuning in and we hope you've enjoyed this brief and informative webinar. Thanks, Kyle.
Yep, I was gonna hit on one more thing too as well Greg. So we did have a question pop up before the webinar that that hit on being able to have a single room in housing and so the process for that would be reaching out to your enrollment counselor and and setting in a request for that single room. However, as of right now, we're very limited on single room occupancy, so most likely you're not going to be able to get a single room.
But at least submit that request for an opportunity to possibly have that. But like I said, absolutely no guarantees on that one.
Yep, we just we have a we're blessed to have a.
High end demand housing on campus and we do have a nice new residence hall typically available for sophomores and juniors that allows for a little bit more room on campus. It's a suite style residence hall, but our first year residence halls on campus are thankfully pretty pretty full each year and so makes for a fun environment. But it also means that we don't really have too much availability for single rooms.
Well, it's been a beautiful early summer in Yankton. We had a lot of rain recently in the area is maybe some of you that live within an hour or two of Yankton may also have had, but campus is looking great. So if you wanted to come by if you haven't been able to visit campus yet and you still want to visit, we have daily visits going on throughout the summer. We also have admitted student day this coming Saturday, June 4th. You can still register for and that's an event.
From about 1:50 on Saturday on campus and your family and and parents are are welcome to that as well.
All right, well thank you for attending and we are going to send this link out to to everybody. If you you know didn't hear something or if you think of a question later.
And and want to refer back to something that that Kyle talked about will send this recording out to you and your parents.
OK.
Alright thanks everyone Kyle, I'm going to go ahead and sign off now.
Awesome sounds good, thank you.
All right, have a good evening.
