First of all, I want to thank you guys for taking a little bit of this time. I know it's been a hectic eventful week for you guys. I want to give you guys a little bit of sense of calm and and regularity here. You know, football meeting got quite a few guys in here, but there's a great opportunity just down the road from where you guys are right now down here in Yankton that we're building something special. So I want to make sure that we could take a little bit of your time here to to cover some of the resources that we can offer you. I do have a couple of coaches on here as well, so if you guys have questions as I'm going through this.
Uh, feel free to type them in that chat and I'll have coach Zook or coach Lewis be able to answer those. But we get going here on this. Share my screen with you guys first.
So yes, you know why when looking at other schools now having to go through this again, I think there's really 4 pillars to really take seriously. Obviously, the first one is academic success. That kind of gets you everywhere. That's what's giving you options afterwards. That's why we're going to school, is to be able to, you know, finish with that degree and then have options beyond that. You know, us having very similar.
The reprograms should be a little bit seamless transition for you guys academically next should be dynamic social environment whether that's within the team and the culture that is built there, but also within the school of the support you have from that school. And then also throughout the Community which I believe is a a big part really sets us apart from a lot of other schools as as that Community support.
Next is commitment to football. As you guys know that there's a lot of different schools that run football programs a lot of different ways. And as you're going through this today and be able to observe some of the other schools that are talking, you can start to realize some of those things that are those resources that are for you guys to have success in football, you know, whether that's, you know, strength program, you know.

Coach John Michaletti is going into his third season as head coach at Mount Marty University. He earned the University's first conference win last season at homecoming. Our program has grown from the 50s to the 70s and now is around 90 total players.
Coaches and things like that. To make sure that once again you guys are successful. And last and probably most important is financial support because schools are only getting more and more expensive. We want to make sure that we're able to give you guys, you know, the option to have that paid for, for all of the sacrifice that you guys have done.
So looking at academic support, first I want to make sure that you guys are through this transition are set up to continuously have academic support and make sure that you know your time away from home and whatever those other things are outside of academics and football that we can really help you guys succeed. So looking at Mount Marty academics, we have over 25 majors and we're continuously growing. Have a few conversations with some other, you know, faculty and things like that of adding other degrees and different minors, things like that to make it more accessible for football.
We have a 96% placement rate, which means that within a year of graduating that you're either in grad school related to your major or getting a degree that's actually related to your major.

Right. The next one is one of my favorite ones is 88% graduate with work experience. I think that is huge. There's obviously entry level jobs, but even on some of those you're looking at and they still won't work experience there to be able to start that job. And then we have our academic support system, free tutors, whether that's biology, you know 101 and you got to need some help with the lab, writing a paper, getting to proofread or just need help with time management. We have a great Center for academic excellence.
That's provides free tutors and people like that to be able to help you guys through that. Through the football program we do grade card checks which we guys will take those around to each of your classes to make sure that we are getting all the information that we need. So we can give you guys the resources once again to be successful. We've done class checks, things like that to make sure that our guys are showing up. We have our own study tables as well which once again those are more tied to time management skills and and last internships, which zones.
Just as tied to the 88% that graduating with work experience.
The social environment, uh, big believer in being a player LED program and I think you ought to see that when I get to our coaches page of a lot of the guys that have played for me looking at more of Yankton and if you guys have never been to Yankton it's very much a tourist town. It actually the population is is just over 15,000 but it supports a little bit almost double that because of the tourist attraction that comes with the lake and the river cut right through Yankton. We have 83% of the students are athletes on campus.

Lewis Clark Lake is a short drive west of campus https://gfp.sd.gov/parks/detail/lewis-and-clark-recreation-area/
So I know it's pretty similar to PC and the nice thing about that though is you're getting constant support. You know, whether it's the kid down the hallway is a baseball player or a basketball player. But then when it's time for games and things like that, there's there's great community within our own little community here on campus and and very active and beautiful campus here as you can see right off of the river that sits up there actually on a mount and it's continuously growing. My three years that I've been here, you've seen quite a bit of expansion already.
Uh, I don't know if you have been able to see on Twitter and stuff like that, but we have our field house right next to a brand new dormitory here and I got a couple more pictures here that I'll kind of talk more about that give a little bit more in depth.
That's the reichenback suites, which is mainly for upperclassmen.
But they're you know, apartment style. And to me that's a very important because obviously you spend a lot of time in the in the classroom and in the weight room and on the football field and meeting rooms and things like that. But at the end of the day when you're going back to your your dorm room, you want to make sure that it's a nice clean place, you know, whether that's you're hanging out with your friends watching Monday Night Football game or playing some Madden or something like that. You want to make sure that you're in a nice safe, clean place. I I think that goes a long way and I think that helps with a little bit of the the positivity too.

Ruth Donohoe Fieldhouse: https://rdgusa.com/projects/mount-marty-university-ruth-donohoe-first-dakota-fieldhouse
Looking at uh, where our campus is located, uh, you know, we're centrally located and more talking about, you know, business wise and things like that. Having Sioux City, Sioux Falls not too far away. Omaha is a little bit further away but a a quick drive close to many colleges. So whether that's, you know, Vermilion 20 minutes down the road where USD is at or you know the schools in Sioux Falls, Schools in Sioux City and and in schools in Omaha. The thing I like about that is when it come to, you know, playing our games and things like that, we're not spending the whole weekend.
On the road that was something that I had to experience as a player. I played at Saint Ambrose which was in the mid states, the MSFA and a lot of time. I'm spending 1314 hours on a bus ride after a game and can make for long weekends and you know, an unhappy experience but you know, talk a little bit more about Yankton. We have obviously attracts tourists with everything there with Lake life and things like that but you know, the business hub of once again tying back to internships and getting you guys that experience for real life.
OK, talking about football commitment.
As a lot of you guys probably know, we are a member of the G Pack which is a 11 team conference now it's all in the Midwest and it's one of the, I'm biased but it's probably the toughest conference out there. Four out of the last five national champions have came from our conference which carries a lot of weight there. Obviously having Northwestern when the when the whole thing this year.
Also very like PC, we are a year round program. I know Coach ***** used to run things a little bit differently there with schedule wise. But to give you guys a brief overview we do have an A varsity and a JV team and my whole process why we do that and and I once again I believe in being completely transparent. I want you guys to know the wise of why do we wear white socks, why do we practice at this time or why do we run this play on this down and distance. But I I want to make sure everybody that comes here is playing football whether that's a a freshman from Yankton, A or a.

Yankton River Boat Days is a large regional festival in late August, one of the biggest events of the year in Southeast South Dakota: https://riverboatdays.com/
Junior from Washington, you know, we want to make sure that everybody that comes to this school is playing because that will give you guys the best experience and helps us continue to grow as a elite football program, obviously. So yes, we'll get here fall camp, have CJV season and as that wraps up towards the end of the first semester, which leads us kind of to where we are now, we really start our high strength and speed program which we're lifting. And I'll show you some pictures of that and talk about Coach Rosie and the staff here coming up here in a second.
But then we'll get into our spring practice. So once again, like I said, I talked to coach hymenium a lot last year about how you guys did stuff up there, and I know you guys did a little bit earlier. We just have a different philosophy of I want to make sure that we're continuously building you guys up in the weight room, being able to do a little bit of skills and drill stuff before we're allowed to get on the field and and have our 15 practices ending with a spring game there right before the end of our second semester.
Talking about our actual X's and O's offense, we're very up tempo. We like to go no huddle and we want to be balanced. Obviously we're talking about run past. There would like to be 5050 as much as possible, but you know if you're taking care of business and we're winning games, you're usually running the ball a little bit more towards the end of the game. We are RPO based, so there are pass options on every run play called and it gives our quarterbacks an opportunity to be able to facilitate the bond and give us the best opportunity to to move the ball down the field. We are very aggressive.
Close to whether that's trick plays or double moves, things like that. Obviously that's also tied to our up tempo offense, but we wanna make sure that we're scoring a lot of points. That's a huge thing for me. I know that it helps everything, whether that's you know, recruiting or retention, helps put you know, seats in the stands, all that stuff. So big believer in having a very aggressive offense. Defensively we're a hybrid 3-4, even though there's times that we look kind of like a four, three or look like a 425. Shoot even a A335 if we get into some of our.
